Xbox Drops 4 Free Games You've 48 Hours To Nab

Get them before it’s too late

Xbox gamers can claim four free downloads today, but you’ve only got 48 hours to check them out.

The weekend is practically here, and most of us will no doubt be looking for some games to help pass the time over the next two days. And if that sounds like you, then these free-to-play Xbox titles might be your cup of tea.

It’s no secret that maintaining our hobby of playing video games is not cheap, especially if we want to keep up with the latest AAA releases, no matter if we play on PC, PlayStation or Nintendo, not just Xbox.

There’s not much worse than wasting our hard-earned money on a game that we failed to connect with. This is why Microsoft’s regular promotion of ‘Free Play Days’ is a great way to check out a full game without making a full purchase.

The latest ‘Free Play Days’ event is live right now and ends on Sunday, 7 September 2025. It’s available for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as well as Standard and Core.

Four games are available in the promotion, and during that time, you’ll get full access. You’ll even earn achievements, and the save data will carry over should you make a purchase.

Those four free Xbox games this weekend are:

  • Beyond Galaxyland: “Inspired by classic sci-fi movies, Beyond Galaxyland is an intergalactic, 2.5D adventure-RPG set among the stars. Step into the sneakers of high-schooler Doug, as he’s whisked away to ‘Galaxyland’ – a zoo-like solar system of planets – on an epic quest to save Earth itself.”
  • Madden NFL 26: “EA Sports Madden NFL 26 leverages a new AI-powered machine learning system trained by real play calls and game situations over nearly a decade to deliver more explosive gameplay—with new coach and player-specific traits, authentic playstyles, and more.”
  • Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker: “Answer the call of the shinobi! Create your own custom shinobi, or select your favourite character, and participate in 4v4 battles where you can unleash a multitude of ninja techniques on your opponents.”
  • TopSpin 2K25: “Experience exhilarating gameplay and immersive game modes, resulting in the ultimate tennis simulation. Featuring tennis legends Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and a cast of other playable pros.”

Hopefully, at least one of the above will keep you busy this weekend.
