Xbox finally has a AAA title it can call its own, sort of, as certain Xbox players will be able to play the new Call Of Duty game day one at no additional cost.

The next Call Of Duty game will be the sixth entry in the Call Of Duty: Black Ops series, taking players to the Gulf War for the very first time.

Check out the teaser trailer for the game below.

Official gameplay hasn’t been shown off yet, with a full reveal coming at the end of the upcoming Xbox Showcase in June, but that hasn’t stopped Xbox from making some exciting announcements about the next big first-person shooter.

Announced yesterday via the official Xbox social media channels, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be a day one title for Xbox Game Pass, meaning all subscribers will be able to play the game at no additional cost right from the word “go.”

This is, of course, due to the recent acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, which has sparked huge discussions as to when the Call Of Duty games will finally move into their new home on Xbox’s subscription service.

With the news that the next entry in the series will be a day one title, this all but guarantees that previous titles will come to the service eventually, likely in the build up to the next game’s release.

A release date hasn’t been shared yet, but if we’re to go off previous games it’ll likely drop sometime in November towards the end of the year.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to the full gameplay reveal next month, potentially followed by a multiplayer and Call Of Duty: Zombies reveal sometime after.

After all the disappointing news surrounding Xbox as a brand over the last few months, having a big title like Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Xbox Game Pass is exactly what it needs to win some fans back.
