Xbox users can nab an Xbox 360 game for free with this handy trick

Get it, it's a banger

Xbox users can grab a free Xbox 360 game, a banger at that, right now thanks to a bit of a cheeky loophole.

You probably don’t have long to take advantage of this so let’s get straight to it, you can get a free copy of Alan Wake: Remastered simply for playing a demo.

See Alan Wake: Remastered below.

As reported by ComicBook, all you need to do is log onto your Xbox and find Alan Wake 2 on the Xbox Store. Then download the demo for the game and once it’s finished downloading you should then be able to download Alan Wake: Remastered for free.

Anyone who bought a copy of Alan Wake 2 also gets the game for free, so there’s every chance this is just a technical glitch on the store’s part.

Alan Wake 2 was a massive release in 2023, along with its subsequent DLC expansions last year, so it’s no wonder it’s still popular now.

Fear not though, if you don’t fancy playing the first game and want to dive straight into the second, you can do that as it’s apparently accommodating to new players who might not know the story so far.

I’d recommend checking out the first game regardless though, as while it shows its age in some areas, it’s still worth a play.

Weirdly some users have reported that this isn’t working for them, claiming it’s actually part of another deal somewhere else on the Xbox Store, one for users who recently made a purchase. Give it a go anyway though, as a free game is a free game.

In other Xbox news, another first-party exclusive is confirmed to be moving across to PlayStation consoles, Forza Horizon 5.

That’s right Xbox’s racing series is now multiplatform, which begs the question, which series will be next? Halo perhaps?
