Get involved while you can

Free Play Days returns to us yet again - and this month’s edition is seemingly a bumper one.

Microsoft has teamed up with 505 Games to provide the latest array of games that Xbox users can try for free.

As you may be aware, most editions of Free Play Days require an Xbox Game Pass subscription and while that continues to be the case for eight of this month’s games, there are two that anyone can try.

That’s right. You do not need a Game Pass subscription to get involved, so without further ado, allow me to reveal what those games are.

The first is Ghostrunner 2, which launched just last year.

In our review of this fantastic action-platformer, we wrote, “Ghostrunner 2 taps into that classic old-school gaming mentality of pushing as hard as possible to get the best times in a level, and of telling yourself you’ll have just one more go at a tricky level before looking up at the clock and realising it’s 2am.”

Take a look at Ghostrunner 2 in action below.

Ghostrunner 2 is available to sample right now, with the free eligibility window ending on Sunday 22 September at 11.59pm PDT.

There is only one condition, you cannot exceed three hours of gameplay.

The second game you can sample is Control - the excellent 2016 action-adventure title from Remedy Entertainment.

It’s a good time to catch up on Control as a follow-up game is in the works as well as a co-operative spin-off.

That game will remain available until Sunday 22 September too. No time limit has been specified.

If you do have a Game Pass subscription, you’ll also be able to enjoy Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, Terraria, Crime Boss: Rockay City, Stray Blade, Miasma Chronicles, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Portal Knights.

Those games will also remain available until the same time on Sunday.

All in all, there’s plenty to choose from. The question is, what’s going to be your first pick?
