Starfield fans are already begging for a fix and the game isn't even out

Complaints about Starfield have already begun.

Starfield certainly has the potential to be one of the greatest games of 2023, but fans have already spotted one seriously annoying feature in the gameplay footage that they’re begging Bethesda to fix prior to launch.

Bethesda’s space-exploration RPG may have over 1,000 planets to explore and potentially even space cats to pet, but it’s clearly not without its issues. Already, using burger-based calculations, fans have deduced that the in-game economy seems pretty flawed. That, or burgers are just really expensive out in space. Now though, as Game Rant reports, gamers have spotted a major problem with the game’s heads-up display.

Take a look at the story trailer for Starfield below.

Reddit user parsajaghi12 took to the r/Starfield subreddit with a big question, and a screenshot which will permanently alter the way you look at the game. “Does the XP bar annoy the hell out of you guys too[?],” they wrote, highlighting that, for some reason, the XP bar appears right in the centre of the screen.

Understandably, others are in total agreement: “It is the first thing I saw immediately that annoyed me in the game,” pyromanix83 wrote. “It's very weird - the entire HUD has a super sleek and minimal look that helps getting immersed in the world around you - and then the XP bar shows in the centre of your view so often. I just find it to be a really weird UI design choice,” agreed renboy2. “I do not mind an XP bar, nor do I mind seeing it. However, I do mind when it is in the middle of my HUD. Put that s**t on the bottom or top, or a corner. Anywhere but the middle,” added Xae-Blackrose.

One user flagged that during some parts of the gameplay footage, the XP bar didn’t appear after enemies were killed, so there could be an option to turn it off altogether. However, that’s yet to be confirmed.
