Kojima Productions has just released a new trailer for its highly anticipated horror game, which is clearly inspired by the iconic P.T.
When P.T was released as a ‘Playable Teaser’ in 2014, it sent social media into a frenzy. A mysterious new developer by the name of 7780 Studio, with players thrown into a nightmarish house with a seemingly never-ending looping corridor of horrors.
Players were tormented by an evil ghost known as Lisa as they solved challenging puzzles, desperately trying to escape this spine-chilling nightmare. When the demo was complete, Norman Reedus was confirmed as its protagonist, and it was for Silent Hills, developed by Kojima Productions with Hideo Kojima at the helm.

For what was essentially a demo, few horror games have come close to generating the kind of hype that P.T. had, and its influence is still evident today in a multitude of horror games from both AAA and indie developers alike.
So, imagine the disappointment when Silent Hills publisher Konami outright cancelled P.T in 2015, including removing P.T from the PlayStation Store as a result of a messy divorce with Hideo Kojima.
Thankfully, however, while Silent Hills is dead, we still have the likes of the fantastic Silent Hill 2 remake as well as the upcoming Silent Hill f, the latter of which releases this week.
What’s more, in 2023, to the joy of P.T fans, a new horror game was announced by Kojima Productions called OD.

At the time, we knew little about the game, other than it would be an Xbox console exclusive, its first trailer featured some incredible facial animations of actors who we assume will all star in the game, and it would be powered by Unreal Engine 5.
Well, Kojima Productions has just dropped a proper trailer for OD, and boy, does it bring the P.T tension that fans have patiently waited over a decade for.
The stunning cinematic trailer features Sophia Lillis, who played Beverly Marsh in the rebooted IT movies. She enters an empty room, lights some candles before she is approached by an entity that causes her nothing but sheer fear.
As the entity approaches her, strange markings appear on the woman’s face. It will be interesting to learn what they mean.

During the opening moments of the trailer, it has the line “Ten years since the [redacted] horror [redacted], [redacted],” which seems to be a reference to the cancelled Silent Hills. The trailer then ends with “For all players and screamers.”
OD does not have a release date at the time of writing, but we do know that it will be released on PC and Xbox. Whether it’s a next-gen title remains to be seen. Hopefully, it will also be released on PlayStation at some point.
