Battlefield 6 PlayStation-Exclusive Content Leaves Xbox Gamers Upset

Green with envy!

Battlefield 6 fans are unhappy that PlayStation is getting exclusive content, and we completely understand their concerns.

Over the weekend, the Battlefield 6 open beta launched on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S to great success.

Yesterday, we reported that the Battlefield 6 open beta garnered over 500,000 players on Steam, and that’s not, of course, taking into account either of the two console platforms.

I played an hour or two of the Battlefield 6 open beta with my son over the weekend. While concurrent player numbers weren't provided on consoles, it was telling that we were both put in an online queue of over 35,000 just to access the PlayStation 5 server.

Sure, it’s no guarantee that each platform will garner over 500,000 concurrent players on each platform at launch. After all, the open beta is free, and the full game will cost a premium.

However, it at least indicates that fans are happy with what Battlefield 6 has to offer, for now. That being said, some Xbox gamers are not happy, it has to be said.

As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle (via CharlieIntel), PlayStation 5 gamers are being rewarded with an exclusive ‘Advance Party’ character skin just by taking part in the open beta. That skin can then be used in Battlefield 6 when it launches later this year.

“Where TF is my Xbox skin?” asked Twitter user ResidentlinkG.

“I ain't even using Playstation,” exclaimed whozae.

“Jesus Christ, Sony couldn’t have Call of Duty anymore, so it jumped ship to Battlefield,” declared kevinchadwick55, referring to Microsoft now owning Activision.

“Sony said you could have the games on all platforms, just not the DLCs and extras,” said RstarThunder112.

I’m not a fan of exclusive DLC, and in my humble opinion, all gamers who play the Battlefield 6 open beta should be gifted with this content. Sadly, that’s not to be.

The second Battlefield 6 open beta will take place later this week from Thursday, 14 August to Sunday, 17 August.

Battlefield 6 will be released on 10 October 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
