Witcher 3 fans horrified to learn they've been fast-travelling wrong for years

Goddamn it, this feels like an obvious one

It’s the simple details we miss that prove the most frustrating.

The Witcher 3 is currently one community shocked to learn that they’ve been fast travelling incorrectly.

This new information wouldn’t feel so bitter-sweet if it wasn’t for the fact that the game has been out for nine years.

All that time and we never knew.

The Sirens of the Deep are calling out to you

Well, maybe some of you did, in which case congratulations to you. It’s nice to know who God’s favourites are.

Redditor AuroraUnit117 informed their fellow gamers of their mistake in a post that reads, “TIL after 200 hours into Witcher 3, you can fast travel in boats.”

Oh yes, the harbours you visit aren’t just there for show, they have a purpose too.

You can’t fast travel to those points unless you’re in a boat. Still, the fact that they’re useful at all has amazed several fans.

Before anyone tries to tell us that the game tells you about this feature during the tutorial, we are aware of this information.

However, not everyone is, hence why it’s such a revelation.

“Something I had no idea about. Possible to play this thing five times and miss things... shakes head,” commented SahreeYurblu.

“You have got to be shitting me,” remarked jclark1689.

The Witcher 3 is one of those games where you can learn something new every day, especially if you don’t read any guides, etc.

If you’re having difficulty figuring out how to utilise these fast travel points, allow user RenewalXVII to explain.

“If you open the world map while steering a boat, you can pan around and see little green anchor icons, which are harbors you can quick travel to. They’re not super plentiful like signposts are, but there’s definitely one in most major cities like the Novigrad docks.”

Sail freely, dear gamers, for you now have the right tools to steer you back to shore.
