It has been almost thirty years since Lara Croft first burst onto the scene and our favourite archeologist shows no signs of slowing down ahead of an upcoming open-world adventure.

There is no denying that thanks to multiple games, shows and movies hitting our screens since her first appearance in 1996, Lara Croft and her tomb-raiding adventures have become a household name.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is now streaming on Netflix! Check out its trailer below.

Everybody has heard of Tomb Raider and eagerly awaits the next instalment so the news of another upcoming video game series has fans hyped once more.

According to V Scooper over on Twitter, the next Tomb Raider video game entry will be fully open-world and set in India.

It will feature “vast sceneries, free use of the motorcycle, parachute, and common Lara’s traversal methods to unrestrictedly navigate across a big map and its challenges.”

This is not the first time that Lara has visited India after travelling there in 1996 and 1998 respectively to claim an artifact known as the Infada Stone as well as being found relaxing in the Imperial Hotel in Calcutta.

However, if this insider information is true, this will be the first Tomb Raider entry to be solely set in southeast Asia.

Other than that, it looks like the formula will pretty much stay the same from the Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy which kicked off back in 2013.

Lara will have to navigate a big map, using various methods of traversal but adding a motorbike to the mix will be something new for the series.

Not only that but it seems as though fans are buying into the hype.

“Hope this is true,” one comment read.

“I enjoyed the trilogy of Tomb Raider, I don’t know why people have issues with open-world.”

Another said: “I hope we get to explore some cities and secrets along temples within them.

And I really hope we get costumes as well.”

We don’t yet have a release date for the next Tomb Raider instalment but with Lara’s popularity still not dwindling, it is bound to be another best-selling entry.
