The Witcher 3 just landed on the last platform you'd ever expect

We're not sure if we're scared or impressed – maybe both?

As much as we love Geralt on any platform, few of us thought we’d see the day he fought monsters like this. Yet here we are – what a world!

Maybe we should ask if we should do something before we actually do. But it’s too late for that now, as one The Witcher fan has made it possible to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on your mobile phone.

Geralt at his best – check out The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt below

They achieved this questionable feat by running an emulator of the Nintendo Switcht version of the game, with them claiming that it’s “fully playable”. That as might be, but is it enjoyable? There are no answers to that question just yet.

Despite “slight visual bugs”, the person behind this creation seems pretty satisfied by their experience thus far. Other fans were in disbelief to begin with, jokingly asking what temperature the phone got to whilst the OP played; “Max 40c on my phone,” responded the OP.

Now that gamers have seen it made possible, others are considering jumping ship and loading up Geralt on their phones. However, some fear their phones aren’t capable of handling it. “Hopefully, my phone is able to support such a large game,” posted a fan, while others simply commented on how “impressive” this feat was.

Although recent CD Projekt Red development updates have put our minds at ease about the future of the franchise, we’re not sure we’ll be celebrating by playing via our phones. Assuming our phones could even handle it.

We’ll take Geralt as intended: on our consoles. After all, that’s how we’ll be playing The Witcher 4 when it launches, even if it will be a different RPG to Wild Hunt. Not so different it launches on smartphones, thankfully.

If you’re interested in trying out The Witcher on your phone, the OP gives a very detailed account on how they made it happen. But ask yourselves whether you should do this...
