Steam Users Can Enjoy Another Batch of Free Games, Claim Now

But does free always mean good? In at least one case on this list, yes!

It’s everyone’s favourite time of the week again folks, because a bunch of new free games are available on Steam right this second.

But, as always, we have to figure out of any of these free games are actually any good. Thankfully, that’s what I’m here for. As per usual, thank you in advance to Free Steam Games on Twitter for finding all of the entities in this list!

I usually try to rank these Steam titles from worst to best, but, as of writing, there’s no consensus on their quality. So instead, I’m just going to leave the one I think is definitely best until last. Let’s get started. Ok, so, I know I said we aren’t ranking these literally one sentence ago, but I think the first one here may definitely be the worst– at least, according to the small handful of reviews it currently has.

DraftPunk by developer and publisher Dalen Studios is a "free to play" multiplayer deckbuilding game, and, at first glance, it looks inoffensive enough.

However, the reviews aren't being too kind to this one. The biggest complaint is that the artwork is AI-generated, with one reviewer referring to it as “AI-slop abandonware”. Plus, apparently the menus are buggy. Sounds like an easy skip to me.

Next up, we've got Ergosphere by developer Yalt and publisher Citreum.

This one looks to be a System Shock-style battle against a rogue AI, tasking you with completing a bunch of puzzles and dechiphering codes in a bid to "preserve your sanity". The aesthtic is particularly cool, as it looks like it’s going for a sort of 90s retro-future blend, so I’d say this is worth a go.

Quetzal - Card Battle TCG is, unsurprisingly, a strategy card battler, from developer and publisher Sandbag Games.

So what makes this card builder better than the other one on this list? Honestly, it just looks like the dev put a bit more effort in. Obviously deck builders like this are an acquired taste, but as someone who is fond of them, I think this one looks as if it might have the sauce.

And finally, we've got RIBBITS, from developer and publisher ProDuckTion.

I like the idea of this one, as it’s a co-op, voice controlled game where you have to literally shout out your movements over a microphone for them to register. Looks goofy and fun, but a lot of the positive reviews seem to be complaining of the game crashing a lot so, maybe keep your expectations low.

And that’s your whole lot, for now at least. I’d wager I’ll see you back here in another 24 hours for another one of these list though.
