Steam quietly releases 3 free downloads you've 1 week to grab

You can claim three Steam downloads today for free but you’ve only got one week to make them yours.

It’s always nice to claim free video game goodies whether it's a full game or DLC. However, it’s also a bonus to be gifted with freebies that make our gaming profiles stand out a little from the crowd.

One of the features I loved most about the PS3 and PS4 consoles (other than playing great games, of course), was the awesome dynamic themes. It may have taken a while for dynamic themes to roll out on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 but it was great to see them finally return.

We can also make our profile pictures a little snazzy with animated avatars. While consoles don't have that luxury just yet, you can upload animated avatars to your Steam profile on PC such as the freebies featured in this article.

As brought to our attention by the Twitter account Free Steam Games, you can download one animated avatar and two animated frames. Both of which you may love if you’re into military shooters and strategy games.

All you have to do to claim these free Steam downloads is sign into your account and redeem them without having to use your Steam reward points. Happy days!

However, you don’t have long to claim these animated profile goodies because they will cease to be available on 27 January 2025 at 6pm in the UK or 10am Pacific in the US. So make sure to claim them today to avoid disappointment.
