Steam freebie is one Stardew Valley fans will adore

Embark on a new farming adventure

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Stardew Valley is the undisputed king of cosy gaming.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons came close to stealing the crown, but its post-launch support wrapped up way too early, if you ask me.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure and Fae Farm are another couple of my favourite cosy titles.

There are so many games attempting to tap into that Stardew-esque magic and while it’s unlikely anything is going to permanently tear us away from our several-year-old farms, it’s nice to dabble in something new every now and then, wiping the slate clean.

If you share my taste in cosy games, then you may want to keep an eye on My Heaven’s Dale.

Developed by DreamingCat, this title isn’t set to launch until 2026, but a free demo has launched on Steam offering PC users a preview of what to expect.

You can view Hello Kitty Island Adventure in action below.

My Heaven’s Dale is your typical sandbox life-sim.

You’ll farm, fish, explore, and bond with the townsfolk, all whilst “trying to unravel an ancient mystery involving the moon”.

Intriguing.

My Heaven’s Dale features adorable pixel graphics that always transport me straight back to my childhood.

As I said, the game remains deep in development so friendships, romances, pet purchasing, and the moonscape system are not present in the demo.

However, there’s plenty else to keep you busy.

You’ll be able to experience the first chapter of the story which will introduce you to the main characters, the basics of farming, planting, fishing, and cooking, plus you’ll be able to explore the first two floors of the caves.

That’s not all as you’ll also get to partake in a festival and craft various items.

All in all, the demo will treat you to around two hours of gameplay - a perfect slice of time to see if you want to put My Heaven’s Dale on your wishlist.

It’s already on mine.
