A killer first-person shooter inspired by the John Wick films has landed in Steam today, in the form of a free taster that could carry you through to the weekend.
John Wick’s iconic quadrilogy of films is regarded as offering some of the best action flicks of all-time, with countless projects taking notes from them in the years that followed.
It popularised the fighting style known as ‘gun-fu’ which is a blend of close-quarters combat mixed with firearm takedowns.
John Wick 4 felt like a worthy ending to the franchise, although a fifth film is reportedly in the works and an official John Wick video game was announced during PlayStation’s February State of Play showcase.

While you wait for the latter to drop, we’d recommend trying out LoudShot on Steam right now, as it’s clearly taking some inspiration from the world’s most deadly assassin.
LoudShot is being developed and published by Exouch, and will launch on Steam sometime in the future. An exact release date hasn't been set at the time of writing.
It’s described as a “fast-pace FPS where every hit counts and every weapon comes from the last enemy you dropped".

"Fights are aggressive and fast. you hit hard, move fast, switch weapons constantly and use the environment to assist you in the fight. slowing down is the quickest way to get killed.”
One second you’ll be hitting someone over the head with a pipe before throwing it at the next enemy. Then you’ll grab their gun and wall-run up the side of a building to get a shot off on another.
Being able to throw your gun at people is a very John Wick thing to do as well. Mr Wick lobs plenty at his foes whenever he runs out of ammo and needs to get a quick stun on someone.
While it sounds like the full game is a long way off, you can jump into a free demo right now. It went live yesterday, July 23, and it’s an absolute blast.
If you end up liking it, there are plenty of other games that’ll make you feel like John Wick, though the one we’d recommend the most is probably Superhot if you haven’t played it already.

For starters, it’s not the first one. John Wick Hex released in 2019, but was more like a tactical puzzle game than a fast-paced shooter.
The new game is a collaborative effort between Saber Interactive and Lionsgate, with the former being responsible for several more awe-inspiring titles coming to console and PC in the coming years - Stuntman: Hollywood and Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival to name a couple.
It’s apparently set before the events of the first John Wick film and will, of course, emulate the gun-fu combat we all know and love. Keanu Reeves will also reprise his role, providing his likeness and voice-acting skills.
