I can't quite believe my eyes, but John Wick has just been announced - and it's the video game we've always dreamt of.
Developed by Saber Interactive in partnership with Lionsgate, John Wick seems to be a third-person action-adventure that's coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at some point.
The surprise announcement surfaced during tonight's (or this afternoon's, depending where you are) State of Play where Saber dropped a slick reveal trailer.
Seriously, the animations showcased were so fluid that my jaw was on the floor. And by the looks of that iconic "yeah", Keanu Reeves is returning to portray the titular character.

Saber Interactive's Jesus Iglesias, game director on John Wick, took to the PlayStation Blog to unveil more.
"Everyone here at Saber is very excited because we can finally share our next big project with you. And ‘yeah’, it’s a John Wick AAA game! Stay tuned for the game’s official title and release date; we’ll reveal both in time as well as more details about the story and setting," he began, so this is a working title by the sounds of it.
"We are working closely with Chad Stahelski (John Wick director and franchise visionary), Keanu Reeves, and Lionsgate to produce a highly anticipated, adrenaline-fueled experience that fits into the world of John Wick," he continued.
John Wick's Real Title Will Be Revealed at a Later Date
"This game takes place during a specific period within the John Wick timeline and contributes to the expansive and rich lore of the franchise. Like many of you, we are huge John Wick fans, and having the opportunity to bring one of the most captivating and successful action franchises to life on PlayStation is a rewarding experience for us."
The game's story is being created in close collaboration with the aforementioned Stahelski, although Saber is clearly isn't willing to give much away at this point in time.
We're told that the game features an original narrative that "addresses a significant time in John Wick’s life, featuring well-known and iconic characters, as well as compelling new characters specifically created for this production".
Signature elements of the franchise will factor into the game experience, including cool camera work, cinematic environments, car chases, and gun-fu action.
There are signature elements from the John Wick movies that are also present in the game, incorporated to enhance the overall interactive experience. Things like the unique use of camerawork; the notable bold and cinematic environments; and of course, the extremely distinctive gun-fu action and intense driving experiences.
There's no word on when the game will be launching, not even a vague year so I'm going to hazard a guess that we could be waiting a couple of years for this.
