A new Steam free download will be one for keen sci-fi fans.
Jump Ship, from Keepsake Games, looks like a mix of Starfield and Halo in which you and three other players pilot a ship and go on intergalactic missions.
“Jump Ship is a mission based co-op PvE for up to 4 players, where you are the crew of a spaceship,” the official description of the game reads.

“Transition seamlessly from crewing the ship to on-foot exploration and space walks. Engage in intense battles both on the ground and in space, and always keep your ship upgraded and intact. Teamwork is key for survival and victory.”
Given Jump Ship’s co-op nature, it may also be one for Helldivers 2 fans to check out, although it seems the missions are more hand-crafted as opposed to Helldivers’ more procedurally-generated map design.

If you wish to check it out for yourself, Keepsake has now released a demo on Steam for you to play with your friends.
The demo includes some introductory content from the full game, so don’t expect it to be massive, but it should be a good taster of what to expect.
It includes the opening tutorial, a handful of missions from the first big map area, a couple of ship components, and some player and ship customisation.
All multiplayer functionality is ready in this demo too, so be sure to grab a few friends to play it with.

Keepsake has also mentioned that some language translations are still being polished. It doesn’t specify which languages, but anyone playing in a non-English language should keep this in mind while playing the demo.
The Jump Ship demo was originally supposed to launch during Steam Next Fest, but Keepsake then decided to release it a week early, probably to iron out any bugs or errors before Next Fest.
Jump Ship doesn’t have a release date yet, but Keepsake is aiming for a 2025 release.
