If you are ever unsure what to play next, then Steam has you covered with the PC storefront regularly adding brand-new releases, and free ones at that, for users.

That is definitely the case for one brand-new release that, as well as being free to download, is also capturing the hearts of all those who play it.

Another Steam freebie is Once Human! Check out its trailer below!

It is titled Modulus and it is a “factory automation game” developed by Happy Volcano.

Added to Steam earlier this month, Modulus will task you with cutting, colouring, stamping, and assembling 3D building blocks in order to design and optimise your very own factories to fulfil the orders of the Grand Neural Network.

Ahead of the game’s full release, its developers have released a two-hour demo to Steam which is available to download for free.

“The demo for Modulus includes around two hours of content, with additional time available for optimizing factory layouts.

Factory floor size is the only limitation to your creative freedom and expression in this demo,” the description reads.

The Modulus demo will allow players to experiment with a variety of different operators, construct buildings with unique functions and even try out the Zen Mode, which removes objectives and allows you to experiment with builds without constrictions.

It is worth noting that any save files made in the demo will not be carried over to the game’s official release but it is definitely a way to try before you buy.

That is what players think, at least, as the Modulus demo already has a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam.

One positive review by user Tankateer reads, “I adore this game. I love the blocky and clean aesthetic and as for the actual game play, it's very simple and easy.

I had a lot of fun doing the demo a few times over and learning the basics was nice as well. I look forward very much to what this game will grow into.

I highly recommend trying the demo.”

Modulus is free to try out now ahead of its official launch date which is yet to be revealed.
