If you’re looking for some fun free Steam games to play this week, including a “peak” RPG, then look no further than these four delights.

The PC platform Steam is packed full of games to download and play that won’t cost you a penny, whether it’s a full indie game, a free-to-play shooter or a limited demo for an upcoming release. However, with so much to choose from, it’s not always the easiest task picking out the good from the bad.

That being said, as brought to our attention by the X (formerly Twitter) account, ‘Free Steam Games’, we have some offerings that will be worth your while, including the aforementioned “peak” RPG.

Four new free Steam games you can download and play today

The Song of WILL: Act I is developed and published by Dylan Webber and it's the RPG labelled by one Steam user as “peak”. This looks like a JRPG straight out of the 90s but with modern gameplay twists and randomised weapons for each playthrough. Taken from 11 Steam reviews at the time of writing, it earned a “Positive” rating.

Judging by its gameplay trailer, The Song of Will: Act I looks like it has some great potential to be a surprise indie hit, and its visuals bring all the nostalgic feels. It all looks well put together and is worthy of your consideration. “This game is so peak, more people need to play. I love this game so much,” said Steam user yarp:D.

All Tomorrows: Invasion is developed and published by Bluestone, and it’s a “casual” FPS. It looks to have solid shooter gameplay, both via a firearm and even a robotic mech. It has a soundtrack with classic Duke Nukem vibes, and above all else, it looks like a fun way to pass some time.

At the time of writing, All Tomorrows: Invasion has a Steam user rating of “Positive”, also taken from 11 reviews. “I love the interesting lore and all, the gameplay is pretty simplistic, fun for an hour or so,” wrote Messkikage.

Next up, we have Oblivion Maiden, developed and published by Project Ex Libris, which also has a “Positive” rating, but from 29 user reviews at the time of writing. After watching its gameplay trailer, it gives us vibes of The Legend of Zelda meets classic Final Fantasy.

Judging by the Steam user reviews, Oblivion Maiden is a short experience, but hey, it’s totally free. Here’s what one Steam user had to say on the charming RPG: “This game is so well made that you just want it to be longer,” said RainSong.

Finally, BomBee does not have a rating at the time of writing, but it does look like a game that might please puzzle gamers, in particular if you loved Beehive Bedlam from the early 2000s.

“BomBee is a cute-but-cutthroat online arcade PvP game where bees brawl with honey bombs, sticky trails, and razor-sharp timing chains on one focused battlefield,” reads the description of the game.
