A free demo for a game just dropped on Steam that has, as of writing, a 100% positive review score - and after having played it, I can see why.
The demo for Deck of Haunts has been available on Steam since December last year, but a recent update seems to be thoroughly impressing players.
It’s currently sitting at a 100% positive score with 40 reviews over the last 30-day period, and a 97% “Very Positive” total review score with more than 300 reviews.

I’ve actually played quite a lot of this one, because even though it’s a demo there’s a surprising amount of content in it.
If I had to sum it up in a few words, it’s a game in which you play as a haunted house and kill intruders with a bunch of spooky traps, Home Alone-style. It’s a surprisingly satisfying little loop, mostly because there’s quite a lot of variance every time you play.
However, don’t take my word for it. Here’s what some of the reviews are saying about it on Steam.
“A little bit over 20h into the game. I love the concept for a horror deck building game where I'm the monster,” commented user Mifuno.

“I'm curious how the game will develop from it's demo to the final product.I believe it will meet everyone's expectations.”
“I have literally never been more excited for a random game,” stated user Kykydance.
“A rouge like deck builder where I am the map AND I'm the bad guy is every vibe I've ever wanted. The Q1 release has me at the edge of my seat, and I constantly check to see if the full game is out yet.”
No exact release date for the full game yet, but the devs have promised that it’s coming sometime in Q1 of 2025 - and you better believe I’ll be grabbing this on day one.
