It’s Friday, hurrah.

What are you playing this weekend? Tape one of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage? Avowed?

Or perhaps you’re still enjoying Kingdom Come Deliverance II?

If you remain unsure, I might be able to help.

Steam Next Fest is almost upon us, which means that the Valve storefront is rapidly becoming jam-packed with lots of newly added demos.

And it’s one of those that I’d like to recommend to you.

Developed by Tactical Adventures, Solasta II is an upcoming turn-based RPG that’s shaping up very nicely.

It’s one I’m imagining will appeal to Baldur’s Gate 3 fans.

“In a Mana-infused land, a dark force led by the enigmatic Shadwyn threatens Neokos,” the synopsis reads.

“Bring your party of adventurers together across perilous realms in this turn-based tactical RPG based on the SRD 5e ruleset. You make the choices, dice decide your destiny.”

Take a look at the trailer for Solasta II below.

I imagine the main question in your head is, “Do I have to have played Solasta: Crown of the Magister?”

There’s no clear cut answer. You’ll certainly understand Solasta II better if you have played the first title, as there are flashbacks to its events.

That being said, Solasta II is set 70 years later in a far away continent, and you’ll play as a new group of characters so I’m going to say the answer can be no.

A couple of things may go over your head but Solasta II does kickstart a new journey.

In terms of combat, as I said, what you’ll experience here will certainly scratch that Baldur’s Gate 3 itch.

In this sequel, players can also now freely roam the map, but they’re warned to be careful where they venture.

Solasta II remains without a release date but you can now experience its demo for free over on Steam.
