Steam drops multiple free downloads you can grab now for a limited time

Steam users can grab a free frame, avatar, and sticker to celebrate the site's Remote Play Together event.

They do say you should never look a gift horse in the mouth. That being said, I can’t imagine Steam’s latest freebie is going to drum up too much hype.

To celebrate the site’s Steam Remote Play Together 2024 event, you can now nab yourself a free animated avatar, frame, and sticker themed to the occasion. It’s better than nothing, right? Right!? I’m trying to be positive about this. The animated avatar is called ‘Planet Pals’ and admittedly, is pretty nice featuring two lil’ swirling planets zooming across the galaxy. The free frame is called ‘Co-Op Circles’. It’s not the best frame I’ve ever seen on Steam but it’s not bad either. The animated sticker is called ‘Gaming Guys’ and, you guessed it, shows two friends gaming.

Palworld has taken Steam by storm. Take a look at the game in action below.

Steam’s Remote Play Together event only runs until 19 February, 10am PST. It’s not yet been confirmed whether these freebies will remain available beyond that date but it’s best to air on the side of caution. With that in mind, you have just under one week to secure your free downloads before it’s potentially too late.

If that’s left you craving something a tad more substantial, allow me to offer you some other ‘free’ themed suggestions. BIONICLE: Masks of Power is set to launch on Steam soon and is due to be free-to-play. This open-world adventure will allow players to relive the legend of the mighty Toa and their quest to collect the Kanohi masks of power.

If that’s not your cup of tea, you can currently also enjoy a free demo for Serum, an upcoming survival adventure that blends together the worlds of BioShock and Fallout. Still not enough? Then you may want to check out the most recently added free-to-play titles, including Grim Clicker, In The Shadows, Tangles, Glowstick, Manzaka, and Divine Twins. There’s a bit of something for everyone if you know where to look.
