A whole slew of free downloads are currently available on the Steam storefront, but you’ve only got mere hours left to claim some of these before they’re gone for good.

Valve are currently celebrating their Steam Fishing Fest on the Steam store, a new limited-time festival that aims to celebrate all things fishing and video game related. After all, who doesn’t love a good fishing mini-game?

First up, and most importantly, are the free profile items. You've got the Buoyant Bait sticker, the Blue Ripple avatar frame, and... uh, whatever the Sassy Bass animated avatar is.

Seriously though, what’s that little fella doing? Courting the fishing line? Either way, these are only available until 10 Pacific Time. That means if you read this article as soon as it goes live, you’ve only got roughly six hours until they’re gone for good.

Otherwise, the main draw of the Steam Fishing Fest is all of the new demos that just dropped.

Now I’m gonna be completely honest with you: I’ve not played a single game on this list. I don’t mind a fishing game, but I can’t say it’s a genre I’ve dabbled in too much.

However, it seems (based on the user reviews) there are some clear favourites here, so I can give you a rough guess as to which one of these are the best to try out.

First up, LurkBait Twitch Fishing. Apparently this is some kind of Twitch overlay that allows your viewers to fish as they watch your stream. Cool idea, and apparently fun enough to net it a Very Positive rating with 256 reviews (97% of which are positive).

Secondly, Depth Hunter 2: Deep Dive. This one is specifically about spearfishing. It's like a first-person shooter, but with fish. Sounds ridiculous, but the review score implies it's got its fans.

Either way, I don’t think you can go wrong here… as long as you enjoy catching virtual fish, of course. Just make sure you snag those Steam Store items before the end of the day!
