It’s the beginning of the month, which means for those who are paid monthly, there’s a good chance that your household bills have gobbled up what remaining cash you had left. This, of course, is the struggle of a gamer who wants to keep up with the latest video game releases.
With that in mind, if you’re on the lookout for some free Steam games to help keep you busy until you’re able to buy the new release you’ve had your eye on, then hopefully, at least one of these indie titles will tickle your fancy.
Four Free Steam Games That Are Yours to Keep!

As brought to our attention by the Twitter account, ‘Free Steam Games’, the first game that might be worth your attention has been met with positive reviews by the Steam community.

That game in question is called Anything But a Gun, developed and published by Forward Slash Studios. At the time of writing, out of the 12 user reviews, it’s rated as “Positive” with only one negative.
“A roguelite first-person shooter set in a corporate office overrun by AI. Battle through randomised floors using 20 bizarre weapons,” reads its description. “Earn achievements, unlock upgrades, and take back everyone's jobs. The only rule? It's Anything But A Gun.”

Next up is Shotgun Pogostick, which is probably going to be the best name for a game that you’ll see today. Judging by its gameplay trailer, this looks like a very simple game in terms of gameplay, but that might be some of its beauty.
This game, developed by Octuphi, looks ideal to have quick blasts for five or ten minutes at a time. Its visuals look very Minecraft-inspired, which is always oddly comforting, and its emphasis on always needing to be on the go is an intriguing one.

Crash & Bump looks to be inspired by the silly but fun indie brawler, Gang Beats. This game looks almost just as silly, with two players having a scrap in a city while trying to avoid dangerous obstacles. It also looks like it has a decent level of character customisation.
“Crash & Bump is an online multiplayer shooter... mixed with obstacle courses,” reads the description of the game developed by Darian Verduzco. “Eliminate your opponents while dodging the obstacles and take advantage of the power-ups to get the victory.”

Last but not least, we have Echo’s Cry, which looks like a cross between Vampire Hunters and Bloodborne. It’s co-developed by Andrew Wittig, Abigail Barnes, Victor Dang, and Colby. Out of all the games on this list, this might just be the pick of the bunch.
“Echo’s Cry blends intense hack-and-slash combat with rhythm-game precision. Cut through hordes of enemies while striking to the beat, combining fast-paced action with perfectly timed inputs,” its synopsis reads. “Battle through a dark Victorian world accompanied by a haunting original soundtrack.”
