Everyone should pick this up before it's too late

My backlog is perhaps worse than it’s ever been.

You see, last year was a banger when it comes to incredible game releases.

It was nigh impossible to keep up and while 2024’s Game of the Year race may not be quite as tight, this year has still added plenty more titles to my ‘to play’ pile.

One game I’ve caught up on in recent months is Mintrocket’s fantastic Dave The Diver which has, since launch, been supported by a number of crossover DLCs.

In one such expansion, released in May of this year, Dave finds himself coming face to face with none other than Godzilla.

As with all of Dave The Diver’s DLCs, the Godzilla Content Pack is totally free, but it is soon set to be delisted.

Take a look at Dave The Diver in action below.

This won’t come as a surprise to major fans of the game.

Mintrocket has made it quite clear that while each of these expansions are free, they’ll only hang around to grab for six months.

Whether that helps keep the costs down, I’m not sure but it feels like that’s likely the case.

With the Godzilla Content Pack landing on 23 May, that means that it’s due to be delisted on 23 November.

This will be across Steam, the Nintendo eShop, and the PlayStation Store, so at the low price of nothing, it’s well worth nabbing now.

As long as you’ve downloaded the DLC, it’s yours to keep so even if you don’t plan on playing Dave The Diver for a few months, I’d urge you to save this DLC now.

In the expansion, you’ll battle Godzilla, of course, whilst also collecting monster figurines and catching more produce for the sushi bar.

In our original review of Dave The Diver on Switch, we said, “The game’s central loop of exploration and fishing in the day followed by an evening of restauranteering makes it perfectly suited to Nintendo’s handheld as a cosy pick-up-and-play game. A definite must-play, which is really saying something given how many must-plays we’ve already had this year.”

It’s definitely one to give a go, on any platform.
