You've no doubt heard of the smash hit Five Nights at Freddy’s - but if you've always hoped that the game would include more monkeys, well, we have some good news for you!

First released back in 2014, Five Nights at Freddy’s has become a cultural phenomenon and something of a household name whether you like it or not.

With video games, novels, graphic novels, and films under its belt, the horror series is loved by children and adults alike with players tasked with surviving from midnight to 6am whilst fending off “attacks” from animatronic animals.

Thanks to its success, Five Nights at Freddy’s has gone on to inspire countless other projects and this latest Steam addition is no exception.

Five Nights At Monkeys: Flat Mode is a “flat-screen horror experience where every night is different”.

Developed by Gameboy_Alex, players will be tasked with surviving each night by avoiding roaming monsters, managing tricky power systems, and of course, dealing with the constant barrage of jumpscares.

If you are prone to anxiety, this is not the one for you.

Of course, for those who already know, Five Nights At Monkeys: Flat Mode is a new version of Five Nights at Monkeys, a game made for VR.

Now, for the first time, you will be able to play it without the headset thanks to this latest release.

It's Time To Ditch The VR

Despite this, its developer promises the “unpredictability and chaos” of the original VR experience with players having to battle with all of the expected features of a Five Nights title.

As such, you will have to learn how to react quickly as monsters can pounce at any time, especially when the power is out.

Throughout each night, Five Nights At Monkeys: Flat Mode will introduce brand-new locations ranging from treehouses, canyon huts, city streets and even mines and with each area offering its own mechanics, dangers and surprises, you can never get too complacent.

“Some nights are quiet and tense, while others spiral into chaos without warning,” the official Steam page reads.

Better yet, Five Nights At Monkeys: Flat Mode is completely free to download and play. No catch.

Fans Are Loving This Spin-Off

So, if you are a lot braver than me, you will want to check out this brand-new Steam addition, especially as it currently boasts a ‘Positive’ rating’

“Amazing game! You need to play it!” One positive review reads.

“THIS GAME IS THE BEST GAME EVER,” another avid fan shared.

“You should 100% try this game out. It's on VR and PC. That's so INSANE.

“MY NEW FAVOURITE GAME.

“If you don't like FNAF then you should still get it. If you love FNAF, you should 100% get this game.

And there are secrets in this game. AND IT'S FREEEEE!!!!!”

If that doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will.
