The weekend is within touching distance which means that a fresh batch of free games are now available via the Epic Games Store.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Epic Games Store’s weekly free offerings, they’re yours to keep forever and you don’t need a subscription to get involved.

The only caveat is that the games available are PC only, although if you have something like the Xbox ROG Ally, you should also be able to enjoy them via the console’s Windows Mode.

This time around, there are two free games up for grabs, which’ll save you just under $40 as they typically retail for $19.99 each.

Both games are free from now until Thursday 14 May at 4pm BST.

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure From Furniture & Mattress LLC

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure is included which, as you might be able to guess, blends role-playing, puzzling, and adventure elements into one delicious concoction.

The game centres around protagonist Jemma who ventures out from her cosy abode on a journey of self-discovery.

The world outside of her home, however, is plagued by an immovable static force with Jemma tasked with disrupting this “culture of stagnation”.

Essentially, you’ll traverse across a moving grid, connecting elements that’ll help restore the world.

You may, for example, need to get a cat back to its owner, or rearrange furniture left in disarray. It’s not unlike solving a Rubik’s Cube.

Devs describe the title as a “breezy RPG without XP or inventory to manage, where everything is handled in-world”, adding that the campaign is “nicely-sized” with “some optional challenges”.

On Steam, Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure has an impressive user rating of 92%, sitting at ‘Very Positive’.

“Such a fun and short puzzle game. This is the first-ever puzzle game that I have completed without ever searching for hints online,” wrote one player.

“This was a lot of fun, Arranger has a cute story to go with it, and no review would be complete without talking about the puzzles. They are VERY well designed,” added another.

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure should take you five to eight hours to complete.

Trash Goblin From Split Milk Studios

If puzzling isn’t for you, you may prefer Trash Goblin which is a cosy shopkeeping game where you step into the shoes of a goblin obsessed with upcycling.

Players will clean and restore curious trinkets before listing them for sale.

Once you’ve saved up enough money, you can improve your shop, purchase better restoration tools, and decorate your space.

Devs say that this isn’t a simulator. Instead, stressing that there is “no pressure, no risk, no right way to play”, which sounds delightful.

To restore trinkets, you’ll need to chip away at dirt before scrubbing away any remaining muck.

You can also combine trinkets to make curious new items or extract materials to apply them to other items in your collection.

There are thousands of combinations in total with players able to sell in four different in-game locations.

Trash Goblin features 40 NPCs, over 120 quests, and over 20 hours of story content, so it’s a very comprehensive offering.

It also sits at ‘Very Positive’ on Steam with an 88% rating.

“A very fun game. It combined my want for puzzles and hoarding things. Highly recommend,” wrote one player.

The next Epic Games Store line-up will drop on 14 May. Those titles are currently hidden as “mysteries” which often signals something of high quality.
