Fallout fans, you need to check out this free Steam download

Another day, another apocalypse

Fallout fans should put everything down, get over to Steam, and grab this demo, as it evokes the feeling of the good old days of the wasteland.

If you’re hungry for some good old-fashioned adventuring, and you’re partial to an apocalyptic scenario or two, then this little indie game might be for you, and it has major Fallout vibes.

The game is made by a solo developer called Joshua Shaw, and it’s called Scrapocalypse.

Painted as an open-world RPG, the year is 2050, and you play as a lone survivor driven by survival instinct.

Roaming the decaying world, scavenging materials, crafting tools, putting together weaponry, not being eaten by zombies; it’s all in a day’s work for this survivor.

With visuals that look back rather than forwards, it’s clear to see the Fallout inspirations, not only in the themes.

This is as retro as they come, and there’s definite charm in every screenshot and trailer snippet.

The demo promises over 30 weapons to craft and find, three underground bunkers to explore, plenty of crafting recipes, and one big map to roam around.

It might be quite some time before Bethesda shows us Fallout 5, so for now we can enjoy this apocalyptic adventure instead.

The developer here has taken time to detail what will come in the full game, over on the Steam store page.

In their description, they note that a much bigger map will arrive with release, along with more enemies, more quests, and better animation.

Combat plays a big part here, with skirmishes against zombies, and the full game should come with plenty of tough bosses to take down.

Scrapocalypse may look a little rough around the edges, but it’s a great foundation to build a game on, and the intention is there to craft an enjoyable experience.
