If you’re looking for a cosy new game coming soon, then we might just have the game you’re looking for.

We hear the term “cosy game” regularly in the video game industry, and while most of those games fit that description, sometimes, the shoe doesn't quite fit. However, that is not the case with this upcoming new indie game from Biscuit Factory Games.

The upcoming cosy indie game in question is called Papaya Plaza, and the team at Biscuit Factory Games features some of the same developers who have worked on the likes of Fortnite and Fall Guys. So, you know that it comes with a certain high level of pedigree.

Papaya Plaza Brings All the Cute and Cosy!

“Welcome, Mayor, to Papaya Plaza! This old tourist town isn’t what it used to be; it’s up to you to rebuild, draw back the visitors (the Beeps!), and bring the community together again,” reads the description of the game on Steam.

“Papaya Plaza is a snackable slice of life game for you to get lost in. Decorate and improve the town as you see fit, to make a perfect little spot for visitors to wander and enjoy. These beeps aren't picky, they just want to discover the next best-kept-secret!

“With over 15 different unique villagers to help out, you're never short of a friend in Papaya Plaza. Each character has a story to tell, and oftentimes a favour to ask. Expect heartwarming, funny, and downright strange little moments as you get to know them all. Build homes and increase your town's population capacity to bring more villagers into your town.”

After watching its joyful gameplay trailer, Papaya Plaza looks like a blend of Stardew Valley and classic Pokémon, which isn't a bad combination to be fair.

What Is the Community Saying About Papaya Plaza?

“OMG this is so cute YAAAAAAY,” yelled Amy_of_Potatoes on Instagram.

“Soooo cute, I love this bubbly pixel art style,” replied Eliandromon.

“TOO CUTE,” agreed Liliuhms.

“Wishlisted, can’t wait!” declared Whimsynymph, with the rest of the comments section pretty much full of heart emojis.

Does Papaya Plaza Have a Release Date?

Not a confirmed release date, at least not yet. According to its Steam page, Papaya Plaza is intended to be released sometime in 2027. So, in the meantime, you might as well add it to your wishlist to be notified of any launch news.
