Steam’s latest cosy game might be one that Studio Ghibli fans will want to keep an eye on.
The Studio Ghibli “aesthetic” gets thrown around a lot in modern cosy games, and for a good reason.
There’s something about the vibes of films like Spirited Away or My Neighbor Totoro that can really resonate with gamers who want a low-stakes story to enjoy without any problems.
Milki Delivery looks to be the latest in a long line of Ghibli-inspired indie games on Steam, but it might be one of the best-looking ones we've seen all year.

Taking what seems to be a lot of inspiration from Kiki’s Delivery Service, Milki Delivery is a game where you “rebuild a community one bottle at a time.”
You play as a young bike courier named Neha, who must deliver milk bottles to the friendly characters who live in your small village, while also gathering food for your pet cow Milki.
The town and surrounding land is described as a region with “lush meadows, green forests, a glittering ocean”, where you’ll need to upgrade your bike to see it all.
However, the region that was once known for its booming milk industry has now been slowly deserted following a “mysterious event that affected all of the cows”.
This makes up the central mystery of Milki’s Delivery, where making more deliveries will, in turn, cause residents to tell you more about their past, unlocking more to the story. As a result, you’ll also strengthen the local community.

Milki Delivery’s developer, Doot Tiny Games, has teased what the game offers, as well as what it doesn’t offer.
It won’t be a “big odyssey with hours-long quests or a branching narrative,” nor will it have multiplayer.
Instead, what it does have is a short adventure lasting around 2–3 hours, with “beautiful landscapes, light management, gentle decisions, and concise dialogue.”
Its mechanics are described as “simple” as well, where you choose your path, sell milk, gather ingredients, and complete little quests.
If you’re after a game with a cosy mood and summer vibes, I imagine Milki Delivery will be the game for a lot of Ghibli fans to check out.
There’s no release date set in stone yet for Milki Delivery, but you should expect it to land sometime later this year. With the game obviously having an appropriate summer theme, I’d be surprised if we don’t hear more about it in the coming weeks.
