If you’ve ever dreamt of playing a roguelite deckbuiler with a Cyberpunk 2077-esque edge, then you’ve come to the right place. The upcoming Zero Division is just that - and you can sample the game for free right now.

Developed by Robot Cat Limited and set to be published by Astrolabe Games, Zero Division is a blend of genres. Part RPG, part collectible card game, and part roguelike deckbuilder, it blends together several styles in a “dark cyberpunk world” and sounds very intriguing indeed. You will lead a three-man squad competing against several factions fighting for territory in the ashes of a worldwide war.

Take a look at Zero Division in action below.

“During the Last War, the thriving metropolis Zerzura was almost obliterated in a war between AGIs (Artificial General Intelligence),” the synopsis reads. “As Zerzura City is known to host the mausoleum of the last functional AGI, an Exclusion Zone has been established around the ruins of the city by the mega-corporations - ostensibly to safeguard the public against rampaging AGI-forged anomalies, but also to ensure the corporations have the first pick of precious salvage.”

While you can select a crew of three, you have nine operators to choose from split across three categories: Guardian, Assault, and Specialist. It’s up to you whether you opt for a varied mix or favour one category approach in particular. Each operator will then have a deck of eight signature cards with 12 free slots. You’ll need to ward off enemies by protecting against exposed weaknesses.

There are over six districts for you to battle over, with several troublesome boss fights along the way. If this sounds like your cup of tea, you can sample a free demo for Zero Division on Steam right now. The game is awaiting a full release date but this should give you a taste of what’s to come in the meantime.
