If you pride yourself on being one of the best gosh darn farmers in Stardew Valley, you might want to make sure you’re watering your plants correctly first.

As much as we all love Stardew Valley, keeping on top of your watering regime eventually becomes a tedious chore.

Of course, sprinklers can help speed up the process, however, they’re still not the most efficient way of watering your crops.

One Redditor shocked their fellow players when they shared a screenshot of their massive farm asking, “Is this madness?”

Oh, to live on a farm in Stardew Valley...

Upon seeing their farm, we would be inclined to say yes because, damn, watering all of that would take forever.

Assuming you don’t utilise this neat trick.

User Osric250 suggested that players “stockpile” Rain Totems to make watering their plants much easier.

“Or, and hear me out here, we just stockpile all of the rain totems, and make it rain every day for the entire growth cycle!” they posted.

It’s an ingenious suggestion, though one not everyone will be able to take advantage of.

This is because finding Rain Totems is far from easy, with players needing to venture into Skull Cavern to get them.

You can craft them too, however, that requires you to reach a level nine in foraging, which again takes time to achieve.

The items you need to successfully craft a Rain Totem are: one hardwood, five pine tar, and one truffle oil.

To make enough to keep your plants watered for an entire month would take a lot of grinding, and access to advanced equipment.

Ergo, it’s not an option every farmer can rely on.

Still, if you’re in a position to craft that many totems, then it seems like one of the smartest moves you can make.

Just don’t come crying to us when you miss the sunshine.
