Star Wars Outlaws free download is making some big changes

Big galaxy, big changes

Star Wars Outlaws has proven to be just as divisive as Bethesda’s Starfield.

Ever since its launch, it’s put players into two distinct camps: those that love it and those that don’t. It’s a marmite game.

Consequently, seeing an upcoming free download make way for some big changes isn’t shocking.

While some of you are committed to a “scoundrel’s life” like GAMINGbible’s very own Sam Cawley, there have been certain elements of gameplay that have hindered those plans.

Chiefly, instant failure missions relating to stealth.

Stealthing your way through Star Wars Outlaws isn’t easy; in fact, its so-called stealth mechanics leave a lot to be desired.

This is why players became so annoyed by several early missions that instantly failed if you were spotted – it seems so unfair given how lacklustre the stealth options are in-game.

As detailed by Games Radar, the game’s creative director, Julian Gerighty, also sees this move as a “mistake”.

There is one particular mission that springs to mind whenever the issue with instant failure is addressed by the developers.

“You're probably thinking of one of the early missions in Mirogana, which is incredibly punishing," Gerighty remarked, “For me, that is a mistake, and this is something that we're going to work on improving.”

While this is an area that the free download intends to improve, "punishing" stealth won’t be removed entirely from this Star Wars experience.

Gerightly said, “I don't think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable.”

Whether you intend to wait until this patch goes live or throw caution to the wind and start a new game right now, we have some beginner tips to help you navigate the game with ease.

Being a galactic thief was never going to be easy, but we hope that it’ll be a little less taxing in the not too distant future.
