Shadow The Hedgehog fans rejoice as Sonic 3 trailer gives our antihero a gun

The latest Sonic The Hedgehog 3 trailer has given us Shadow The Hedgehog with a gun, and fans are going nuts over it.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 releases in cinemas this December and will see Sonic, Tails and Knuckles face off against their greatest adversary yet, Shadow The Hedgehog, voiced by Keanu Reeves.

Shadow’s on a quest for vengeance and will do anything to achieve his goals, even teaming up with Gerald and Ivo Robotnik, both played by Jim Carrey, to do it.

The latest trailer gave us an even closer look at Shadow and how much trouble he’ll cause for Team Sonic, but one scene stood out amongst the rest.

That’s right in one part of the trailer Shadow, while riding a motorcycle, kick-flips a gun into the air and catches it as it ascends.

Fans instantly recognised the reference as Shadow has access to an arsenal of firearms back in the Shadow The Hedgehog spin-off game in 2005, something it took a lot of criticism for as many disagreed with the idea of a Sonic character using a gun.

Over the years though it’s become a bit of a meme, and nowadays I think many will agree that it was a lot cooler than we gave it credit for back in the day.

Of course the scene in the trailer will probably just be a quick gag, with Sonic probably making a comment about how dark things are getting before Shadow tosses the gun or something like that.

We could be wrong though, perhaps Shadow will have a fondness for weapons throughout the film which is why he seemingly always has the edge over his blue doppelganger.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is promised to be the best film yet, and from the latest trailer it looks like things are going to get pretty crazy.
