Paramount Pictures has cast its Amy Rose in Sonic The Hedgehog 4, the next film based on the hit SEGA games.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Kristen Bell (The Good Place, Veronica Mars) has been cast as Amy Rose in the next Sonic The Hedgehog film.
Bell’s experience in voice acting includes playing Anna in the Frozen movies, and she's also featured in guest roles for animated shows like The Simpsons, Robot Chicken, and Family Guy.
Her video game credits include reprising her Frozen role for Kingdom Hearts III and Disney Infinity, as well as playing Lucy Stillman in the Assassin’s Creed games.

To me, it looks like Paramount is keen on squeezing as many Sonic characters as possible onto the big screen. We've got Amy Rose, with Metal Sonic on the way.
But there's only one Hog I want. I want Silver. I need Silver.
My single claim to fame is, at 10 years old, I was a semi-successful Sonic the Hedgehog Let's Player on YouTube. I filmed my videos on an absolute potato of a Kidizoom camera, pointed at my 240p Nintendo DS screen. Some might argue its the best content I've ever made. Certainly the most successful, and isn't that a little depressing.
Silver needs a voice that balances naivety with raw power. Here's a list of the top contenders fans are suggesting:

4. Andrew Garfield
The earnest number 1 hero. Garfield is currently the #1 fan-favorite for Silver, and I have to agree. His interview with Elmo about grief made me bawl my eyes out. He's the perfect choice to balance Silver's tragic story and his optimism. He’s from a dead world but refuses to give up. Vulnerable, yet heroic. Doesn't that sound like a certain web-swinging hero we love? His take on Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man is exactly the energy I want Silver to have.

3. Tom Holland
Okay, I'm half joking here. Turns out Tom Holland is in absolutely everything, and for good enough reason. I know I just said Garfield's Spider-Man would be spot on for Silver, but there's something to be said for Holland's slightly anxious, high energy take on the character that perfectly matches a younger Silver the Hedgehog.
Number 3 - Chris Pratt. Now that was a joke.

2. Steven Yeun
After his incredible work playing Mark Grayson in Invincible, I've seen all I need to. He voices 18 different Mark variants, each bringing a different emotion through. Plus, I loved him in Mickey 17, Bong Joon Ho's 2025 film. Silver goes through the wringer in his story arcs, and I'm all in on Yeun if Sonic 4 or Sonic 5 goes dark with the "Bad Future" imagery.
We've debated as a team. It got fierce. Bloody. Visceral.
But our number one choice is none other than...

1. Eric Vale
Eric Vale, the legendary voice of Future Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, would be awesome, I have to admit. Internal SEGA design documents for Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) apparently used Trunks as the blueprint for Silver's character. Silver and Future Trunks are similar in so many ways - from their time-travelling tendencies, to their white spiked hair. They go on a similar journey - from a post-apocalyptic "bad future" to the present day to prevent a global catastrophe. They even have the same realisation that changing the future is bigger than just killing one guy. Not to mention, their personality, their dedication to their mission, and their ability to transform into golden super forms.
Who are you hoping gets cast next for Sonic 4?
