Hit free RPG Where Winds Meet is dropping a free gift for all players, so make sure to grab yours.

Where Winds Meet launched earlier this month, and despite releasing during a busy time that includes the launches of Battlefield 6, ARC Raiders, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, it’s managed to hold its own.

In the week since launch, the game has managed a daily peak of around 250,000 concurrent players on Steam, with a reported 2 million players overall, and it shows no sign of slowing down.

So, it’s fair to say that the game has seen a rather decent influx of players and reviews. At the moment, it’s sitting at 85% positive ratings on Steam, indicating a “Very Positive” rating.

To celebrate the successful launch, developer Everstone Studio is giving all players a free gift in the form of 10 Lingering Melody items.

“Regarding the Event: Swords Unseen, we will be adding additional rewards after today's patch update—you can go to the event page and claim them,” reads the blog post by Everstone.

“As a small token of our gratitude, we have also prepared a special gift for you: Lingering Melody ×10.”

Future patches for Where Winds Meet is coming

In addition to this, Everstone has also laid out plans for upcoming patches as the developer works on improving the game extensively over the next few weeks.

Everstone has already improved network connectivity and latency, allowing players to have a smoother experience when connecting online and playing with others.

The developer has also worked on improving localisation and voiceovers, ensuring that they’re “more idiomatic and easier to understand”, and this also includes subtitling and dubbing. The goal here is to make things “more immersive”, which Everstone will be focusing on over the next few patches.

Finally, Everstone is also going to be focused on improving the beginner tutorial, enhanced character customization, and refined English clues for puzzle-solving quests, which should help with onboarding new players and help everyone to continue enjoying the game.

Meanwhile, future patches have also teased to add “Steam Deck compatibility, optimized multi-timezone display, split outfit customization, PS5 Pro support for PSSR, enhanced audio experience, and more.”

As Everstone says, “Our goal is to create a Jianghu that everyone can enjoy, and we welcome any further suggestions you may have.”

Where Winds Meet is out now for free on PS5 and PC via Steam.
