I won’t rest until this mystery is solved.
If you’re a regular around these parts, you’ve likely heard me yap about the ‘Live From PS5’ marketing campaign before; well, I’m about to do it again.
In early 2023, PlayStation launched its ‘Live From PS5’ campaign which essentially centred around the concept of news anchors reporting either from within PS5 titles or about them.
For example, it featured one reporter live from New York following a Spider-Man encounter, referencing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, or another in a future iteration of San Francisco as a nod to Aloy’s adventures in Horizon Forbidden West.

God of War Ragnarök, Final Fantasy XVI, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, and Stray were amongst the other games featured.
All of the featured games were known PlayStation 5 exclusives, whether that be first or third party, or timed or indefinite.
It’s also fair to say that the featured games were all recognisable, except for one.
In a couple of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shots, a female adventurer could be seen walking into a cave with a flame torch, blowing dust from an old relic on a pedestal.

The footage isn’t from anything that’s yet been made public with many assuming this to be a subtle teaser for a PS5 title that’s in the works.
Naturally, the adventuring theme led many to assume it might be a new Uncharted game centred around Cassie, Nate’s daughter.
That’s certainly possible as the ‘Live From PS5’ ad used live-action stylised iterations of PlayStation’s characters, which could explain why, if it is Cassie, she looks different.
This was just a theory though and two (approaching three) years on, we’re still totally in the dark.

No game revealed in the last two years sheds light on this footage - and I certainly can’t see it being linked to any of Sony’s cancelled live service projects.
You can view screenshots of mysterious footage in the tweet below posted at the time of the campaign’s release.
The only real information that’s come to light in the last two years that might help us out is that we know Naughty Dog is developing a second game alongside Intergalatic: The Heretic Prophet.

It’s believed to have been in development for several years, and is directed by Shaun Escayg of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy fame.
Could this be that game?
If it is, you do have to wonder why Sony dropped the tease so early.
But again, this is just a theory. This footage could remain meaningless until the end of time.

All I know is that I’m not the only one plagued by this enigma.
