January has proved to be an exciting month for The Last of Us fans. It brought us the release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered and casting news for season two of HBO’s TV adaptation.

We now know that Kaitlyn Dever will be bringing Abby to life, with Isabela Merced and Young Mazino joining as Dina and Jesse respectively. With filming due to kick off imminently, there seems to be no better time to dive back into Part II, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered is the definitive way to do so. In our review, we wrote, “The Last of Us Part II Remastered is utter perfection. Naughty Dog has the advantage that it’s working with what is already one of the most-awarded games of all-time. The Last of Us Part II Remastered is so much more than a new lick of paint though. While those new bells and whistles do boost the main game’s intensity and immersion, making this the definitive way to experience this stage of Ellie’s story, it’s far from the only way in which this release shines.”

Take a look at our video review of The Last of Us Part II Remastered below.

The fun will continue on into February it seems. As previously revealed, Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II is on the way. The documentary which charts the, you guessed it, making of the game will debut on YouTube and also in-game via a free update. It’s not the only treat the update brings. It’s also due to include new skins for Ellie and Abby which will presumably be usable during both the main campaign and No Return mode.

Just yesterday, Naughty Dog confirmed that the update would drop on 2 February which is only one week away. I love this game wholeheartedly so I am oh so very excited to dive into this documentary, particularly to see any behind-the-scenes of mo-cap sessions. I’m not alone in being excited. Fellow fans are thrilled.

“Can’t wait for some inside video of how this masterpiece was created,” wrote one user, while another said, “This will be extremely interesting. Excellent! Can’t wait.” One tweeter added, “Finally, a release date. I’ve been checking for it everyday.” You and me both, my friend. Bring on 2 February.
