January continues to be a month that delivers for The Last of Us fans. Last year, it was the month in which HBO’s TV adaptation first landed on our screens. This time around, it’s brought us the release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, season two casting news and now, a first glimpse at those cast members together in action.

In case you’ve been sleeping under a rock, and January is admittedly the eepiest month of them all, allow me to bring you up to speed. We now know that Kaitlyn Dever is joining the cast as Abby, alongside Young Mazino as Jesse, and Isabela Merced as Dina. The Last of Us continues to deliver with stellar casting. I just hope it’s not too long until we see who’s bringing Yara, Lev, Owen, Manny, and Mel to life. I’m very much of the belief that Jeffrey Wright should return as Isaac. Given that filming is about to kick off, we should find out sooner rather than later. If season one was anything to go by, members of the public snapped their fair share of unofficial ‘on set sneak peaks’.

Take a look at our video review of The Last of Us Part II Remastered below.

Well today, I bring you our first look at Young, Isabela, and Bella Ramsey - who, of course, plays Ellie - all together. The trio has clearly landed in Canada to begin filming and were photographed together at a restaurant in Vancouver. I’m warning you, seeing Jesse, Dina, and Ellie brought to life in live-action might just melt your heart. Take a look at this great comparison edit by Twitter’s TheLastofUsNews below.

Oh, how happy and innocent they all look … It’s clear that the trio look the part and considering they’re all great actors, I have no doubt they’ll perfectly capture the essences of these characters too. Now we just need to see Kaitlyn in action and fill out the remainder of the Abby-aligned side of the cast.

I’m not the only one excited by what I see. “Our hearts will get wrecked. I’m so excited,” one fan wrote, while another simply added, “My babies.” That was my response too. I have a feeling that it’s going to be a fun few months as we see more and more tidbits teasing what season two has in store.
