Red Dead Redemption fans need to check out this free PlayStation download

Rootin', tootin', cowboy shootin'

A brand-new cowboy-centric game, which just released to extremely positive reviews, just got a free download on PlayStation 5, and fans of Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 aren’t going to want to miss out.

Cattle Country, a new farming sim from developer Castle Pixel, LLC. and publishers Playtonic Friends, just dropped last week, and it’s already receiving rave reviews.

Don’t let the cute facade or the promise of some lighthearted farming fool you however, as this game isn’t as wholesome as it might appear on the tin.

The developers promise that you’ll be able to undertake a bunch of different tasks during your mission to become America’s greatest cowpoke, including “mining, fishing, crafting, and farming – along with deep-rooted Wild West Quests delivering stories of romance, cattle drives, bandits, and robberies.”

Yeah, you read that right, you can straight up murder folks in this one. This ain’t ya pappy’s Stardew Valley.

Over on Steam, Cattle Country is currently sitting at a "Very Positive" score with over 100 reviews, 88% of which are positive.

GAMINGbible’s very own Kate Harrold even gave it a 9/10 in her review, stating that “Cattle Country defies the odds and certainly manages to make its mark on the life sim genre. It’s charming, fun, and packed with unexpected surprises and a thrilling sense of adventure that sets it apart from many of its competitors.”

If you’re not convinced, however, the demos for the game are dropping on every platform, including on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 5 version of the game.

Don’t feel left out if you’re not a PlayStation owner however, as Cattle Country is also available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

I just hope you can’t catch tuberculosis in this cowboy game, too. I can’t go through all that for a second time…
