Steam players are currently blowing up the platform by swarming it to play the latest surprise download that emerged unexpectedly.
We wrote yesterday about the demo for Stellar Blade dropping, giving players the chance to experience the game for the first time on PC, and since then, the demo has been popping off.
Within 24 hours, the demo was being played by over 26,000 concurrent players, pulling in more people than some popular AAA games on Steam.

Of those who have been playing, thousands of them left a review, bringing the demo’s rating to an impressive “Very Positive” which is a great start for the game from Korean developer Shift Up.
In our review, from when it released on PlayStation 5, GAMINGbible's Richard Lee Breslin said, “This is an epic action adventure from start to finish that kept me engaged and wanting to come back for more. It doesn't do a great deal to reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't need to,” before handing it a 9/10.
According to many of the eager players, Stellar Blade runs brilliantly on a myriad of gaming rigs, but it also performs well on the Steam Deck, surprising several users.
“Runs perfectly well! I was surprised how well optimised this game is, even when I'm running it on 4K. I can't wait for the actual release,” said one review.

While another player noted, “Runs great on Deck!!” after almost four hours of playtime.
This action-packed sci-fi adventure is already off to a tremendous start, and with the launch just around the corner, on 11 June, it’s certain to continue.
Of course, modders are already working on the game and providing some questionable mods, though this just shows how eager the community is to play Stellar Blade, and it seems Shift Up has another success.
