We all know that the PlayStation 6 is on the not-so-distant horizon but what games will be launching on the next-gen console still remains to be seen.
It is a sad realisation that the PlayStation 5’s lifespan is coming to an end, but it is also exciting to know that the PlayStation 6 may be just round the corner with a whole batch of new games arriving alongside it.
Now according to a recent insider leak, one such game may be none other than Destiny 3.
Following the end of Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness saga which wrapped up back in 2024, many fans believed that Destiny 3 was just around the corner.

However, when Bungie instead decided to continue the saga with a brand-new campaign instead, the beloved game was soon met with negative reviews, leaving Destiny 2 in a sorry state.
So it is perhaps no surprise that Bungie may have turned its attention to the future.
According to well-known Destiny leaker and data-miner Colony Deaks, Destiny 3 is in “extremely early development” at Bungie.
Colony Deaks, who is best known for posting leaks and insider information around titles such as the upcoming Marathon and Destiny 2, does have a positive track record but as always, this information is worth taking with a pinch of salt.

Very Early Stages
“Yes, Destiny 3 is in extremely early development. Some of you may have seen a tweet early this afternoon that mentioned that,” their recent social media post read.
“We have been sitting on the info for a few weeks now and wanted to wait to talk about this seeing as it is in such an early state, and it just sucks to see others post about it carelessly for free internet points.

“We plan to share more info in the coming months as we wait on the larger scale things to develop and take shape. Sit tight.”
Of course, Bungie has not commented on this potential leak at the time of writing and even if true, being in the very early stages of development will not see the game released for many years to come.
However, if it is, we can expect it to be a PlayStation 6 title and hopefully, Destiny 3 will bring the magic back to the series after a rocky few months for Destiny 2.
“Might explain why we've been getting less and less with D2 (outside of Marathon) - I think it's a good decision to start developing a D3 personally,” one comment over on Twitter read.

“I hope it’s more than just a 3 but an overhaul of D2 entirely,” another added.
“I fear that we are redoing the same cycle. I get the franchise needs a revolution but a new standalone game is a band-aid, fix not a solution.”
Hopefully it will not be long before Bungie confirms or denies this brand-new insider claim.
