breaking news

Mass Effect 5 remains a distant dream but after a long period of dormancy, another sci-fi epic looks set to make a grand return.
Starfield is well overdue for an update; it’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three years since the game’s first DLC dropped.
You may have forgotten that Bethesda actually teased the existence of a second DLC last year, although we’re yet to hear more about it.
Insiders have also claimed that a major free update could be on the way for the game, likened to what Cyberpunk 2077 received with Update 2.0.

I personally really enjoyed my time with Starfield at launch. It certainly wasn’t comparable to Cyberpunk 2077’s broken release.
That being said, I can definitely see why an overhaul is needed to lure in the naysayers and skeptics.
By all accounts though, it’s a port that’s imminently on the way.
Starfield Is Coming to PS5 In April
According to leaker Zuby_Tech, Starfield is finally set to land on PlayStation 5 in April.
“Starfield is scheduled to launch on the PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026,” they wrote, attaching an image revealing EANs (European Article Number) for both a standard and premium edition.
Nothing else has been revealed beyond this, but I find it hard to believe that Starfield is going to land on PlayStation 5 without any of the bells and whistles mentioned above.

Launching the game’s second DLC for Xbox and PC users on the same day that the PS5 port lands could bring in a huge amount of players, giving Starfield the boost it so desperately needs.

If those whispers pertaining to a Cyberpunk 2077-style overhaul do prove to be true, surely that’s the version that will land on PS5?
As always, it’s important you take this news with a pinch of salt until confirmation arrives.
It’s hard to say when that’ll be. This news doesn’t seem to link in any way to today’s Nintendo Direct, unless Starfield is also landing on Nintendo Switch. I’d be very surprised if it did.
There are claims that a State of Play is due to be held in the next couple of weeks. That feels far more plausible.
The response to the leaked PS5 port has been, well, mixed.
“It’s just not a fun game,” remarked Reddit user Deady1138.
“Not a terrible game. The problem is that it's not really an amazing game either,” added def_tom.
I enjoyed it, but each to their own. Starfield isn’t the greatest game I’ve ever played, but I had no issue easily passing the 50-hour mark. It’s a game with plenty to do.
Let’s hope it’s not too long before Bethesda’s full plans are unveiled to us.
