In the wake of 007: First Light, James Bond is alive and kicking with a wealth of gadgets at his disposal.
But there's no point in having Bond's arsenal if your PlayStation controller is as flat as a day-old Martini.
With First Light being one of the first of many enormous released of the next 12 months, you can bet your DualSense pad will get quite a hammering.
So, naturally, here's exactly how to get your most out of the old joysticks with a battery-extending hack that even the Quartermaster will be proud of.
With immersion at an all-time high, PlayStation bent over backwards to make its controller be alive and kicking, with adaptive triggers and real-time vibrations that make you feel ever pistol kickback or defensive blow.

But one hack means that you can sacrifice some of the uneccessary drama for longer active play times.
In the Controller settings inside your PS5 hub, all of the options for vibration intensity, trigger effect intensity, brightness of controller, communication method, and more are automatically set to 'highest'.
But they're not needed, and more for show than anything. Dialling them back has drastic impacts on its lifetime.

Using that hub to turn off the controller speakers (especially if you are useing headphones) is another huge battery saver.
If you're still looking for more, there are ways of inching more lifetime out of your controller, and together they can add up to hours worth of more unitrerrupted gameplay.
The next being adjusting the 'Set Time Until Controllers Turn Off' setting to a minimal time, which means if you need to quickly pop down for a cup of coffee or the doorbell rings, you won't be left wasting charge to a meaningless void.
And while you're at it, get in the habit of turning your DualSense controllers off when not using them, its the easiest hack to get right.
There are also ways to negate the need for these hacks altogether. If you're playing from the comfort of a gaming chair, a simple USB-C cable plug-in is far easier to manage than having all of these settings changed - although we understand it's a different matter if you're across the room on a big plasma TV.
Yet even when you ened to charge it, batteries tend to perform better when not topped up to the maximum. If you can afford to watch the levels go up, taking it off charge at around the 80 percent mark will stop your controller battery degrading so quickly.
All in all, following these steps will have Bond eating out of the palm of your hand as you operate undercover through nightclubs and skyscrapers.
