Sony’s DualSense controller is perhaps the most dynamic of all time but, as a result, its battery life leaves a lot to be desired.

Featuring immersive haptic feedback, dynamic adaptive triggers, and a built-in microphone, the DualSense controller was revolutionary when it was released alongside the PlayStation 5 back in 2020.

Check out the DualSense Edge in this short video below!

As a professional-grade controller, its features had not been seen before and it was due to this that many gamers widely regard it as the best so far.

However, thanks to its multiple features, the DualSense’s battery life is not long at all but thanks to a recent video by Youtuber PlayStationGrenade, we now have some handy tips and tricks to keep that battery full for longer.

In their video titled ‘30 PS5 Tips, Tricks and Secret Settings’, the Youtuber suggests heading into your PlayStation 5 Settings > Accessories and then Controller (General).

Once here, you will see multiple options ranging from vibration intensity, trigger effect intensity, brightness of controller, communication method and more.

By default, these options will be set to their “highest” setting but by lowering them (i.e, less vibration on the haptic feedback or making the lights less bright), you will be able to prolong battery life.

Additionally, if you mainly use your PS5 with headphones on, you can also turn off controller speakers which is found on the same settings page.

Last but not least, it is sometimes easy to forget to turn your DualSense controller off, especially if you are using your PlayStation to watch a film, for example.

However, holding down the PlayStation button for 10 seconds will turn the controller off which, as you can probably guess, will stop its battery draining in the background.

Many PS5 owners may already know these tips and tricks but it is definitely still reminding them as there is nothing worse than the DualSense dying in the middle of an epic boss battle after all.
