You don’t need a PlayStation 5 Pro, all you need is to change these settings on your base PlayStation 5 for a better gameplay experience.
Console gaming has always been meant for the casual gamer. PC players slave away at their rigs optimising every minute detail for better performance whereas a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X are meant to be just plugged in and played.
That said modern consoles have their own fair share of settings nowadays, and while most gamers will probably be content with their current graphical quality there’ll be plenty out there who want to push it further, especially for games like Crimson Desert.

There’s a better path forward and it starts in your console settings, so keep reading if you want to see your graphical output majorly improved.
It’s a pretty simple recipe, and plenty of Crimson Desert players have been taking advantage of it already.
The first step is switching your TV to “Game Mode.” Every modern TV has one nowadays and it’ll help with refresh rates.
Then you’re going to dive into your console settings and switch it to Performance Mode if you haven’t already.
This will get you that boosted framerate and there are settings within Crimson Desert to make it even better.
Next you’re going to dive into Crimson Desert’s settings and turn Contrast to 50, ensure HDR is enabled and turn V-Sync on. V-Sync is important as it’ll ensure there’s no screen tearing as your TV attempts to keep up with the framerate.
Next switch Fixed 4k Output, turn Camera Shake Intensity and Blur Intensity both down to zero, Particle Effect Quality up to 20 and finally switch Depth of Field off.
Do all of that and you’ll be treated to the definitive way to play Crimson Desert on a base PlayStation 5, without the need for a PlayStation 5 Pro.
These settings reportedly work on Xbox too if that’s your platform of choice.
While you probably won’t get the exact same results a lot of modern games will feature a similar setup for their settings, so run some experiments with other games like Resident Evil: Requiem and see if this is your winning formula.
