It looks like a beloved PlayStation RPG from the PS3 era is getting a new-gen remaster, and it might be arriving sooner than we expect.
The PlayStation 3 era offered us some amazing exclusives. For starters, from Naughty Dog alone, we had a fantastic trilogy of Uncharted games and the original The Last of Us. Not to mention the likes of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, God of War 3, and much more from other studios.
However, there were also plenty of exclusive games that may be considered underrated, that had flown under many radars, such as Heavenly Sword, Siren: Blood Curse, Puppeteer, and Yakuza: Dead Souls, to name a few.
Perhaps one other PlayStation 3 game that falls into the underrated category is Tales of Xillia 2 from Bandai Namco. Tales of Xillia 2 was originally released in Japan in 2012, before arriving in the West in 2014.

“A year has passed since the climactic events of Tales of Xillia, in which the two worlds, Rieze Maxia and Elympios, were united by the destruction of the barrier that separated them,” reads the synopsis of the sequel.
“Elympios is a modern nation with a high level of technological advancement gained through the use of spyrix, whereas Rieze Maxia is a previously isolated land which relies on spirit artes and nature. While both worlds work towards peace together, there are still numerous clashes due to cultural differences, and it will be some time before true peace is achieved.”
When is Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered releasing?

As reported by ComicBook, during an interview with Famitsu (via ryokutya2089), the director of the Tales series, Yusuke Tomizawa, said the process of Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered has already begun behind the scenes at Bandai Namco.
This news will surely delight fans of the series, especially when we already have a remaster on the way later this month with Tales of Xillia Remastered on 30 October for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
No release date was mentioned for Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered, but hopefully, that information will drop sooner rather than later.
The most recent game in the series, regarding a new tale, is Tales of Arise, which is available on PC, as well as modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Fingers crossed, Bandai Namco will also treat us to another new game in the series, along with the glorious remasters.
