The last thing anyone wants is to get locked out of their console, especially when it’s something out of their control.
That’s exactly what happened to one player, who has reported that they’ve been permanently banned from their PlayStation 5 console, for seemingly no reason.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, how do we know they didn’t do something against the terms of service, and to that I’d say we have to take them at face value.
Buff_Baby_22 took to Reddit to tell the tale of what happened, saying that their account was compromised, so they changed the password after trying for two days, and it was eventually successful.

They got back to playing, thinking everything was fine, when suddenly they’re signed out again and upon looking into why, they were met with a message saying they were “permanently suspended”.
After contacting PlayStation support, the player explained they only play “story mode” games, though sometimes party up with friends, and has never had a violation.
Sadly, Sony wasn't overly helpful, sending them a message on live chat saying they couldn’t help due to security concerns, adding “I am sorry this may not be the outcome you expected.”
Nobody in the thread has any idea how to help, but many of them had something to say about how Sony handled the situation.

“Bruh what. That’s asinine. Why would Sony even do that?” said ADGx27.
“That is the worst support message I’ve ever seen,” commented BoB3y-D.
Sadly, it doesn’t seem like there’s any resolution, nor any more information from either the player or Sony.
It could very well be a bug in the system, and it gets solved soon.

Another Redditor was hit with a similar ban and managed to get it reversed, but it’s not looking as simple for the original poster of the thread.
