PlayStation has announced a new State of Play event where it’ll share some new games coming to the PlayStation 5, maybe even a hardware reveal if we’re lucky.
The company posted the announcement earlier today and while there’s a lot to be excited for we’re most excited for a potential God of War game reveal.
Don’t get too excited as it’s not a sequel to God of War Ragnarok, but rather a new spin-off akin to The Rogue Prince of Persia.
This was teased last year by insiders and will apparently be a 2.5 metroidvania, but we left 2025 without an official word on it.

Now that could all change and while updates on titles like Marvel’s The Wolverine feel definite this rumoured God of War game is at the top of our wishlist.
As someone who played, and loved, God of War: Valhalla in one sitting I love when this series tries to do something new, and I have every faith that a metroidvania in this world would go unbelievably hard.
Where To Watch And How Long For
As per PlayStation’s announcement the State of Play will drop on 12 February at 10pm for those who live in the UK.

It’ll run for around 60 minutes and you’ll be able to catch it online through various channels. Your best bet would be PlayStation’s official YouTube channel though, or Twitch if you prefer that. GAMINGbible will also be on hand delivering live-updates on the latest announcements too so be sure to check back in for the big show.
We’ve already talked about God of War and games like Marvel’s The Wolverine but we’re excited for some totally new stuff too.
Some of the latest rumours say a new Devil May Cry game will be announced, great timing after the Netflix series premiered last year.
While it seems unlikely it’d also be nice to get an update on the PlayStation 6. All we’ve had so far are leaks but I wouldn’t put it past PlayStation to officially confirm it’s in development and what year it’ll be dropping.
That release date announcement is imperative as the current fears are both the PlayStation 6 and next-gen Xbox will be delayed due to current shortages of RAM and GPUs.
All will hopefully be revealed during this upcoming State of Play, and don’t forget it’s dropping on 12 February.
