PlayStation users have noticed that multiple games have mysteriously been pulled from sale with no warning whatsoever.
It’s not uncommon for games to be pulled from sale; it can happen for multiple reasons, such as a licence expiring, content needing to be cut or, in the case of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, temporarily pulled from sale because it was in such an abysmal launch state.
Publishers can give no warning if it's decided that a game is to be removed from digital sale as per obscure terms and conditions hidden away beneath a haystack of text.
As great and convenient as the digital age can be, downloading video games, movies and TV series, comic books and so forth in an instant, there is one major snag. As stated, digital products can be pulled from sale in an instant and, in extreme cases, removed from your library forever.

All of the above is the main reason why I will always buy physical games and movies for the franchises I love. Because, unless I misplace or have my items stolen, they’re mine to keep forever.
Swinging back to the game recently removed from the PS Store, as reported by PlayStation LifeStyle, Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign has been suddenly blipped by Thanos.
Puzzle Quest Galactrix for the PlayStation 3 has also been removed, along with X-Force Genesis on PS4 and PS5.
“Combine your favourite characters from the Marvel Universe (including Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Venom) with deep RPG levelling, episodic events written by Marvel writers, and much more,” reads the synopsis of Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign.

“Put your squad to the test in battles against players in both online and local multiplayer to compete for the top of the leaderboards. Unleash your inner Super Hero and wage war against your enemies before Norman Osborn and his minions reign supreme!”
Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign still has a dedicated page on the PlayStation Store at the time of writing, but when visiting, you’re greeted with “not available for purchase”.
Developed by WayForward and published by D3PUBLISHER, Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign was released in 2015, so being a decade old, there’s a good chance that its Marvel license has expired, which might explain why it’s no longer available for sale.
In the case of Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign, it can be considered a glorified mobile game in the vein of Candy Crush, and it sold for less than £8. I’d be shocked if there was a massive community of fans crushed by this news, but there still might be a few.
