PlayStation Plus users mourn a shelved feature that used to be a standard, and are now left feeling extremely disappointed, to say the least.
It’s fair to say that regardless of the tier you subscribe to, whether it’s PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra or Premium, each offers a decent amount of value. Obviously, the higher the tier, the more games and perks you’ll have access to.
The top tier of Sony’s subscription service, PlayStation Plus Premium, offers everything included in Essential and Extra, with the addition of retro classics, cloud streaming, trials, movies and more. However, one of those aforementioned perks isn't as good as it was, well, at least recently.
“I miss when offering more than one classic game per month was the standard for PlayStation Plus Premium,” exclaimed Twitter user Radec. And that’s a very fair question.
There was a time when PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers would get two, maybe three retro classic games from the PS1, PS2, PSP and PS Vita era. But recently, one retro classic seems to be the new standard.

Take, for example, the newly announced PlayStation Plus Premium games this week; the only retro game we got is Wild Arms 4. Sure, Wild Arms 4 is a fantastic game, but just one game? Come on, Sony, sort it out!
“For real. I'm really tired of them drip-feeding us classic games,” replied Littleb85852645.
“Yeah, I’m gonna have to sub down to PS Plus Essential. Premium has been an extreme disappointment,” declared Nineteen96.
“I cancelled my PS Plus Premium because classics were the only reason I had it, and the last few months have been trash,” said CorneredFoxes.
“It's ridiculous we can't get the likes of GTA Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories via PS Plus. We also need the likes of Driver and The Getaway games adding to the service. We can dream,” exclaimed Stephen Moss.
I suppose the alternative, if you’re unhappy with the classic games included in PlayStation Plus Premium, is to downgrade to Extra or Essential, and buy the classic games you want. Typically, when a PS1, PS2, PSP, or PS Vita game is released on PS Plus, it’s also available to buy for £7.99.
Hopefully, we’ll have better luck next month. Speaking of which, Sony and Konami, can we have OG Silent Hill on PlayStation Plus Premium, please?
